Hey Peggy! Greetings and I hope this finds you well!

Well… SL was installed yesterday at the High School here in Mahopac… (!) Woo Hoo! Big time…

I’m being asked by the administration if you might provide a synopsis from your experiences at Ramapo with concentration(s) on any ‘burps’ you may have encountered along your journey. Also I was asked to reach out to you for your guidance on implementing process/procedures for rules permissions, and consequences for starting up.

Personally, I wanted to know also what you were up to and how you are fairing in your Open Sim endeavors. I plan on the “Mr. Mosel’s SL Club to be active when we return from break. We’ll meet two afternoon’s per week to ramp up. There are many students who are supporting this.. As well, there are a good amount of teachers who are too. NW BOCES wants my/us to present our progress and work to a Board Technology Panel after we get along…

This was two years in the making… Many dog and pony shows and countless demo’s with both students and teachers alike. I presented at tw Superintendent’s Day presentation’s and presented at a staff event as well. I started up a Mahopac Teacher’s Technology Panel Google Groups site and added much content (as you know). Whew… Now It’s time to dance.. As you know, I am a huge fan and advocate of all you have done and are doing. I hope this will fair well, I’m the leading edge and the pioneer here across the river (in these parts). There isn’t a district that I am aware that has that has advanced to this level of acceptance and that has opened their High School students, teacher’s and Administration to Second Life access with meaningful pedagogy and curriculum exploration.

Hope to hear from you soon Peggy and once again thanks for being a great lead pioneer!!! I hope to add to your data set and/or experiential repertoire for successfully administrating and hybridizing VR – Ed into mainstream Public Education. I graduate in May 2011 with my M.A.T. Certified in Earth Science (secondary). I don’t have a home yet… Outlook is scary. I’m hoping this experience will create added value to me as a sought after teacher in the 2011-2012 school year. I applied to Pine Plains SD last year, they had an ES opening and I got a call but they hired the day of my interview… Bummer. Who knows what the future will bring right?!

Happy Holidays Peggy!!!
